#16 Perfect Moments

Posted: January 16, 2011 in On the Road Series, Uncategorized

When you’re out there, you will have perfect moments. Things will happen with people and places in a timing that you couldn’t have set up if you tried. Big-screen kind of perfect moments. They make you feel like you’re on the right track. Sometimes those moments mean a lot to you. What is interesting is when they don’t.
You might walk into a perfect moment with people around you knowing there is something special or divine or inspired about this moment. Then you might just walk right through. That impresses the hell out of people. They don’t understand how you could hold such a perfect moment with an open hand. Not grasp it tightly and revel in it. How could you only take a few bites and then move on, as if you’ve got something as equally amazing waiting for you up the road?
Then they get this crazy idea in their heads:
Maybe your life is a series of perfect moments everywhere you go. Maybe you’re surrounded by miraculous timing and provision and life. Maybe you consume these moments for nourishment. Eat them like burritos. Maybe you dispense them like ice cream bars on a hot day. Maybe you’re on your way to deliver or inspire another perfect moment. Maybe you draw them out of the ether like thunder storms. Maybe they’re right.
That’s when they say, “I want to go with you!”
