On the Road #3

Opportunities happen. So do distractions.
There are people who will offer to come with you or take you with them. they will offer to give you things or a place to stay or company. They might offer you a map or a ride. They might offer you the very thing you’ve been dying to get your hands on. Maybe food or validation. At moments like this, it’s helpful to know if what you are being offered is an opportunity or a distraction. Opportunity or Distraction. Remember that. Because (as per an earlier post), if the devil can’t beat you, he’ll give you exactly what you want and let you beat yourself. it’s not that every choice is that serious and a big deal. Just understand, if you’re out there, you’re probably out there for a reason, and being saved from the road is probably not the reason you’re on the road. You’re probably out there to overcome. That’s just one of the reasons.
Two people can offer you the exact same thing, but one can be an opportunity and one can be a distraction. One man might need saving, and you reach down and give. another might seem to need saving, but you know to walk right by. this is the kind of thing I’m talking about.
Anyway, you’ll be offered things, sometimes by people who look like they want to hurt you. and that’s a strange feeling. and it makes you wonder if the they can do more damage by giving you what you want than by attacking you or trying to take something from you.
So take a moment, if you have a moment. Ask, “What’s the truth here? Opportunity or Distraction?” after a while, you won’t have to ask. You’ll know. Flow.
